A couple of weeks ago I purchased a 2017 500c. It's a relative low mileage car at 34k and is in very good condition with the full service details and cam belt and water pump change. My inquiry is how do I service the mechanism for the fabric roof and is there a schedule anywhere perhaps with some photographs. Thanks in advance.

That's a nice looking example.

I've had my 500C for 12 years now but I've never seen anything relating to servicing the roof mechanism. I apply a good fabric roof cleaner regularly and a water repellant treatment at least annually (though my car is garaged and rarely out in the rain) so it still looks new. As often as I think of it I apply a 'dry' lubricant (PTFE) into the running tracks, using a can with a long pipe to avoid overspray, and my roof still moves smoothly and (fairly) quietly. Given the mild climate here the roof is open on nearly every trip unless it's actually raining so that's thousands of open/close cycles since new.

The only other thing I'd suggest is to run it through a full cycle as often as possible. One of those sticky roller things is good for removing lint and other 'bits' from the roof fabric. Hope you get as much pleasure out of it as I have mine. 🙃
