General 500C Lounge, Uncomfortable seats

To be honest - it's not the running cost that's ever worried me about a car, it's the standing still costs while I'm using my bike. This is what appealed about the 500: £240 insurance £30 road tax.

However, I couldn't stand it any more and have just put down a deposit on a Alfa Romeo Mito 1.6 diesel. It's the 120bhp Veloce model. The seats fitted like a glove and the pedals just fell naturally at my feet. I booked it in for a long test drive but was hooked after 500 yards. It's a really really pleasant place to be sat. Hopefully picking it up at the weekend.

Insurance is £300 per year (same insurance group) and £100 road tax. The Alfa always was my second choice after the Fiat and I wish I had looked at both before putting my cash down. Oh well: Live and (don't) learn.........

It's just like a real car, only more painful!!

Hahaha awww bless. I do like my Fiat 500, but I just can't get on with it. Bit like my brother really............ (kidding, bro!!)

Nothing. Well in fairness, they wrote off the £200 negative equity in the Fiat. It's unfortunate that I've just lost all the equity that I had in my Ford Focus.

My OH has a MiTo 1.6 MJ and I have a 155tb. I drive hers a lot on country runs gets 50mpg and I wouldn't be hanging about. The 155tb gets around 40mpg on the same kind of runs and is much more pleasurable but the mpg can drop to 35mpg. If you're using your car privately I would strongly recommend a 135MA over the MJ. There is a newer 1.3 MJ that's congestion exempt and is more economical returning a genuine 70mpg and is quieter than the 1.6. If you are more than 1 up you'll notice the difference in performance. The leather seats are worth very penny and the black is charcoal and is easy on the eye. The 16 inch wheels are more comfortable than the 17s and the MA has a Komi sports setup whilst the QV has the amazing adaptive suspension which copes well on the bigger wheels.

Robnw67 i feel your pain a bit with the pedals on the TA, i reckon it took the the best part of a year to get an ideal position and ended up raising the seat, lounge seats are a bit like you sit on them rather than in them

I prefer hard seats, and always cringe when I get in a hire car with soft seats, but I guess the lesson here is to listen to any inner doubt during test drives. Sorry that doesn't help much...

Haha sadly I couldn't deal with it. I much prefer to sit in the seat rather than on it and felt somewhat 'vulnerable in the car - not sure why. So I got rid. I am now the proud owner of a black Alfa Romeo Mito 1.6 Diesel. Fantastic seats, superb pedal arrangement and goes like stink!!:D:D

Congratulations on the new motor Robnw67. The 1.6 MJ is quick and sometimes it can be hard to resist using dynamic mode. The output of the MJ is 320Nm which is the rated limit of the M32 gearbox but that has not been an issue with other fiat models. The best of luck and hope all works out well.(y)
