Hi all :)

Apart from shared panda tech.. I am pretty clueless with regard to 500s

My niece has asked me to check over her 500 before she puts it up for sale.

Nice car 2012 2nd owner @80k miles

Interior looks very good .. B+M works well..

To me the Alloys look really clumsy..

Were these standard fit.. an option.. or just ended up there before she bought it ?

Im assuming its a Lounge..?

Whats it worth??

If £5k I would think about 'nicer' wheels.. if £2k.. not worth considering..

Does the 500 still sell well.. ?
the clumsy Vauxhall clone .. doesnt appear to have dented the 500s popularity..

Thanks Charlie

Are those alloys black? If yes that would put me off straight away(just a personal thing, from a distance it can look like the wheel trims have been nicked)

Black..Yes.. and a bit 'bulbous'

Hence the question about originality

No accounting for the original owners taste when speccing the car from factory.

My niece just needed a car that was practical and reliable..

London congestion compliant and 100 mile trips.. served her well.

Value..?? Any idea.. autotrader will give a broad array.. and zero indication what they actually change hands for..

Put the reg into WBAC and see what comes up; that will give you an absolute worst case price if all attempts at a private sale fail. That figure should be about £1500 less than the windscreen price on a dealers forecourt.

I'd advertise it at £1000 over the WBAC 'buy now' price, mentally allowing £500 of that for negotiating.

Part exchange, what you'll be offered depends more on what you're buying, and how much they want to sell it.

My rule of thumb for a fair private sale price is to take the difference between the forecourt price and the buy in price and divide it into three parts; one part to account for the warranty and enhanced consumer protection of a dealer sale that aren't there, one part for the seller, and one part for the buyer.

No part ex.. it was insulting ;)

Will probably be sold as is..

Is it a Lounge interior..?

Ive only ever sat in a 500 twice..
April 2013.. loan car while dealer attempted their job ..
And yesterday to check all dash lights.

I will report back with my findings.

Im assuming its a Lounge..?

Definitely a lounge - those seats weren't available on any other trim variant.

No franchised dealer is going to want an 8yr old 80k car on their forecourt. They'd trade it away, so it isn't of much interest to them.

OTOH, a 4yr old with 20k and they'll likely make more reselling your trade in than they'll make on the new car they sell you in exchange.

Auto trader was as dismal as I recall..

Can they not take photos..

Prices appear to be @£4k trade..

Couldnt see ANY with black wheels..

Guntree was better for photos.. but pricing similar.. far better site to navigate.

Lets just say I would rather have spent the money of the weekends purchase on 3 new FIATS.. ;)

Prices appear to be @£4k trade..

£4k would be the forecourt price.

Here's one such example, with slightly fewer miles and the correct OEM wheels.

WBAC would offer around £2700 for that same car, so all the figures tie up with what I've posted earlier.

Fair private sale price? My take is £3000-£3200.

I'd be interested to see what you get.

That is a 500 Lounge, not sure on the engine though. The 500 trims are Pop, Sport, and Lounge, with either the 1.2 8v 69, 1.0 TwinAir 60, 1.3 Mjtd, 1.3 Mjtd II, 0.9 TwinAir Turbo 85, 0.9 TwinAir Turbo 105, 1.4 16v engines. It looks to be a 1.2 Lounge. The Lounge looks like a Pop, but the bumper moldings are chrome instead of the body color. All of the trim levels have the same style in every country, so every Pop looks the same, every Sport looks the same, etc.

Can you try to get a better pic of the wheels? These are the stock Lounge wheels, you’ll see them everywhere on every Lounge you see. They are 15” aluminum rims. Adjustments.JPG
