General 500 abarth colours

I placed an order for a 500 abarth in March. Recently had a phone call that I could choose my spec for the car. At the moment, it only involved choosing the colour - choice is white, red or black. The dealer said I could have one of the early production slots for the UK - thats still means Jan or Feb next year.
However, it does seem that the ss kit may not be available immediately. I want to have the kit fitted when I have the car new, so it might be even a few months later before I could have the car ready.

not exactly a great choice of colours then.

with the red door mirrors looking good as a contrast, it pretty much rules the red out as a good choice for body colour - so we're left with white and black.

was hoping for a silver - the red against silver (or grey, a la panda 100hp) would have looked fantastic.

white will look more than a little chavvy unfortunately.

hmmmm. lets hope my analysis is wrong and that it looks better when we finally see the choices.


good to hear that things are finally moving forward though, albeit slowly. so we're looking at feb/mar 2009 then for the 1st ones? lets hope they price it keenly. if they price them too close to the minis they will lose out, as they cant compete on the solid feel and build quality of those cars. fiat are getting better, but they still have to shake the reputation, abarth badge or not



and of course, their biggest problem are the dealers - they're crap, as we all know - especially aftersales. its bordering on enough to stop me buying the 500 abarth, great as it potentially sounds.

Yes I was looking forward to having grey as a choice. I agree red is out and I have had a black POLO Gti for the past 8 years, so it looks if its going to be white.
The dealer also said that leather seats may be standard, but I can't see this. Anyway, I have booked some tickets for the Goodwood FOS, where I here fiat will have a 500 abarth on show

I ordered it from the new Fiat dealers in Cardiff run by Wessex Garages. They will be the Abarth dealer for Wales. I have found them very helpful, service has been first class. The manager is a gentleman called Warren Clark.

Wow! You have managed to put an order in already?

I went to my local dealer and they couldn't tell me if they were going to be an Abarth dealer and said none had been announced yet.

If only I could find out what local dealer is going to be the Abarth one. As i'm near Manchester, I'm guessing Stockport is most likely as there isn't a Fiat dealer in the middle of Manchester apparently.

Wow, you lucky thing! I like the white, I think it suits the car but saying that, the black look pretty mean

i'm prob gonna go for the black one with the 17" alloys. then again i like the white...either way it'll be a fantastic car!

Red is my choice, providing i can find a dealer!

Mind you it could do with a black 'Abarth stripe' along the doors to finish it off.

Romford is in Essex. I don't think i'm going to be travelling 200 miles to place an order.

There simply must be a dealer in Manchester. Its not like its a tiny city in the middle of nowhere.

Also i don't think i'd be happy going that far for servicing etc.

Abarths were all sorts of colours, red and white were very popular.

Grey was also a trade mark Abarth colour. Shame they are not doing Punk Grey
