Technical 4wd and 2wd front hubs

My '91 4x4 has just failed it's MOT in a few points. One is one of the front hubs. I'm sure I once knew the answer myself and I have had a quick forum Search but couldn't see the answer (it's definitely been asked before!). But, are 4wd and 2wd front hubs the same/interchangeable?

i am pretty sure they are, its only the struts that differ.

Yes but not the rear 4x4 to the front. The struts only differ with the hole size 12mm not. 10mm the angles are identical and the stroke but springs at longer on the 4x4. I Beilive
