General 438bhp fiat cinq

been off the forum playing with an audi for a while and just thought i would pop on and see whats happening to be met with this, all i can say is i think some-one needs to get thier medication levels checked,

mike you must have the worlds biggest melons mate as that must be some scary a*s car to go flat out down a strip.

well done on building a really impressive car.:worship::worship:

I'm not sure what's going on with the front end. It uses a Zetec and, I'd guess, some variety of Ford gearbox. The track is a fair bit wider -- at the front -- than on a Cinq, and all that can't be explained by the fat tyres and wheels. I'm guessing that it uses Fiesta (or even Focus) driveshafts, which would probably mean using at least Ford uprights...........

Since vzhrob seems to be Mike and his mate, I can never be sure who I'm talking to. But this is some of the detail I'd have liked to have seen in the article.

The lad in the mag furture pictures is mike he own the car.

Im a very good friend of mikes he was going to sign up but never did work comments
The car has a 2 speed hewland gearbox, fiat cinq coilovers and standard lower arm.All modded and rose jointed plus traction bars, the wheels have been made for the car with the right offset.
The reason why the wheel hang out is beacuse there 11inch in width.:D
Remember its a drag car and a fun one at that, evo owners dont like it.:D

I'm sure they don't, anymore than they like the high power MR2 tubs!

Pics of the front suspension would be very interesting indeed. Any ETs so far? The Polski 1.4 16v tubs are just about to get into the 12s.........

The car ran a 11.3 at 132mph at the moment at low boost
The setup allmost there now just waiting more nice parts coming.:D

Is that like a Salfa Romeaab?

GOK what they're calling it. I remember talking of a GuiliEvo years ago (Alfa Giulia/Mitsubishi Evo. Now I'm idly contemplating a FulvImprezza (Lancia Fulvia/subaru Imprezza) -- Lanprezza?. I'd probably get lynched by the respective OCs!

Goddamit, someone has to have made their New Year Resolution "Sell/Give Fingers a Cinq Roll Cage" so I can forge ahead with ToyFIAT......... when I find another garage. :bang:

buy a cage!!!!!!

buy a cage!!!!!!

I don't want to pay full retail for something that'll take 4 months to arrive from Italy and which I'll have to -- ahem -- modify substantially. Nevertheless, the weld in cages are probably better in terms of fit for the passenger compartment (I'm determined that this will be a fully road legal and road useable car) than I could design or manage to put together.

Unless the Euro really crashes..................

It's more the ends I need to extend to pick up suspension mounts and all. Like I say, the weld in ones are pretty much as good as they get for fit and such in the cockpit (the bolt in ones intrude a lot more) and I really doubt of I could do any better.

The FIA don't really come into it, although I think you can declare something as meeting the specs and have it scrutineered. It might do the odd run what you brung and trackday, but that'll be it. If I can get it to handle and pump out something in the order of 300 - 350 bhp/tonne (and at great expense the olde MR2 tub will produce close to 700bhp) it should scare a few things (and me).

But let's stop buggering up this thread. ;)
