Hi Everyone

I was wondering if anyone can help me I have a Sisley and when you lift the 4x4 lever inside the car the light does not illuminate on the dash.
I have removed the dash and checked the bulb but not that.
Is there a switch anywhere like the reversing light switch on the gearbox anywhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes there is, its mounted on the back of the gearbox near to where the propshaft bolts on. It is a plunger type and is probably stuck in.

Thanks! If it's broken can you still get replacements? Or is it more simple just to clean it off and grease it up?

i have one on my grey 4x4 where the wires have snapped off the back of the switch :(
theres nothing really much i can do about it other than take the switch to bits and see if i can run some new wires from inside it somehow.

it is a job at the bottom of my list though.. it does not really need to to work.

i have just toyed with the idea of sticking a simple micro switch down where the 4x4 lever is inside the car, so when it hits that when fully pushed down, the light comes on.

I can supply spare 4wd switches from the gearbox hoard at the moment.
£10 plus postage if the original can't be mended.

Hi, what's this gearbox hoard you speak of? I might need a replacement as mines 'a bit crunchy' when going 3rd to 4th...

Hi Andy

I would love one of those switches please.
I will cover postage just let me no how much.
Don't suppose you have or no anyone with a bull bar light guards and tow bar do you,
I will pay almost anything for them I am desperately trying to finish my Sisley off.

Thanks

Mark

a crunchy box is nothing to worry about ;) mine does it as do most.

unless you are lucky :p

yeah i meant wire the switch up so when it is pressed down the light is off

Guess you could get a gearbox reconditioned if it gets too bad, wonder how much that would cost tho. The one thing I do want to do is fit a new clutch but that's a fairly big job that can be done once I get an MOT

Hi Mark, I should be in position to help you with pair of rear light guards with fresh black coating, bad point is that they will be available end of June. As i'm currently working on my sisley to have it ready for Italy trip.
Hope this is not to late.

Hi

I have looked everywhere for this switch looked from the top been underneath and can fine no plunger switch or wiring.
Does anyone have a photo of the location please.is it possible it's been removed maybe and a bolt put in its place ?????

I keep some 4x4 gearbox spares (and accept donations to the stock) for people to use. Syncro rings are one of the normal wear parts but I only have used ones unfortunately.
Good practice is a long, slow, pause between gears.(y)

Hi there

Without appearing to be an idiot where is the photo taken from the top looking down with the spare wheel removed or from underneath ?
Thank you so much for your help by the way.

Regards

Here's a photo from underneath if that helps. Look for the bit with the wire coming out.
