I dont know whether i want 300GB though seems a bit overkill for me!
Lol - I currently have 900gb

And have recently acquired ANOTHER 160Gb SATA-150 to add, but having trouble installing it :( may have to jig around all my drives, and put on another partition :chin:

You can never have enough storage :slayer:

I could do with another hard drive.. I've got 2 80gigs and a 120 at the moment and im scraping the bottom of the space barrel...
what's the biggest SATA drive anyone's seen?

just jam it in/lever it out.it will be fine :p
I have the space, even got a spare SATA power cable...

But it is my drive set-up :chin:

I have my 160Gb boot drive, partitioned C & D, on the IDE-133 channel, so goes through the Promise Array [a single stripe]; the 2*120Gb SATA-150 drives, partitioned G, are striped in a RAID 0 array, again through Promise - and the external 300Gb, partitioned H & I, is not an issue [USB/firewire options].

So the new drive has to go through the on-board SATA controller - but it needs formatting, and is a boot drive from the 'other' server. I can't seem to configure BIOS to not see it as a boot-drive :bang: , really annoying. It may be my mobo, which defaults to that channel first, before the IDE-133 one.

Ah well, will have a fiddle.......

My server needs a HDD upgrade. Want to RAID 1 2x 40GB and then RAID 0 a few 250s as they're the cheapest gb/£ currently.

Here is my reccomendation - it looks like Lego :D :slayer:

hehe.. chance would be a fine thing... no discount for a friend, and loyal customer for 7 or 8 yrs. :( gutted....

I should play the "stuck by you through your times on leeds road, when you customer service was even worse than it is now!

actually, they aren't bad for customer service now, got some guys that know their sh't. Shame that when you actually go to the counter, you can be waiting for your goods for a long time, even if it's just one pissy network card.

Yes, wern't they on Leeds road in Tong then they moved to Tong road in Leeds - or something like that...

Their forum is pretty good. They've managed to get a few items in which I requested although they're still more expencive for cases than another site I've found. Especially server cases.

yea, some stuff is over priced...

They were in on Leeds Road in Bradford before... now they're on Bradford Road in Tong... near enough...

I choose between them and somewhere else if i'm buying pc hardware, including cases and such.. the other place is www.komplett.co.uk they're swedish, and so far have been excellent.

Do they sell pump action enlargers? :p

www.x-case.co.uk is where I got my server case with sliding rails for £110 :worship: and my friend got a very sexy Antec Plusview for £50 :slayer:

Little off-topic, but you have no idea how offensive that comment alone is to Swedish people... I got a right verbal bashing from a group of both guys and girls for making a porn related joke about the Swedish...

One girl in particular went proper ape (this was at a table in a bar witha bunch of us sat round chatting) and she starts raising her voice and is like...
"well you know what British guys are associated with... being crap in bed"

"fair do's, c'est bon chance que je suis francaise nest pas?"

There was no need for personal insults.

And i'll be sure to remember that X-case place, I'm sure I'll update some time in the next 6 months.

There has been a big price war with these HDD's over the last couple of months, all the usual suspects seem to be doing them for around a ton.

Samsung have a 32GB flash chip thingie which they are going to use in rows in laptops as the power consumption is a lot less so expect that medium to get bigger and bigger hence the pricedrop in traditional drives.

I got a bit from CCL the other week, choose the ultra economy delivery option and it turned up 5 days before I expected it, impressive!
