Knocking could be from worn driveshaft outer joints, though I would expect that to happen the same when going forwards.
You could also check that there is no tyre rubbing on anything at full lock
The steering geometry of the Ducato allows quite large steering angles, to help reduce the turning circle. This means that there is a certain amount of "scrub" on full lock, most noticeable on a loose surface like gravel. This isn't normally a problem, as full lock is only used occasionally and at low speed for manouvering, but it might create a noise on some surfaces. Again, I would expect the same going forwards or backwards.
