2nd Hand 1.6 engine

i have just had fitted a 1.6 MK1 brava engine in place of my old (duff) one into my car. i bought from a breaker and the engine runs and it seems as sweet/powerful as it should be.

HOWEVER, it has a hesitation/judder at low revs at idle speed and when changing gear. it judders less when driving above 2500rpm but still noticeable. the mechanic who fitted the car seems to think that its to do with the electrics. is it important to reset the ECU on the engine as it has many new bits on it and may not have been used for a while?? any help is appreciated

Has it got new plugs and leads? Is it the correct Mk engine for the ECU (Mk1 or Mk2 engine)?

Its always possible its got a shot injector.

it should have the sparks and leads off my old engine. it ran fine while it was working. the sparks are only a couple of months old. however im only guessing those details.

it is all mk 1 bits and bobs. they both have they aluminium cylinder head.

Probably a dead injector then.

roughly what sort of money would that cost me to repair?

also how much to buy and replace a new heater matrix?
