do i just run + to amp then ground the - of the battery?

I have second akumulator in my trunk, i have connected it without buying a charging kit or sthg like that.. Just parrale connected the batteries and they are working well enugh to power my 12.000W sound system witnout a problem..

I am intrested to know, what exactly are you running to be able to run 12,000w???

Indeed.

I am 99% certain that your system is not producing 12000 watts. Sorry but it just isnt.

12000 watts in a car requires about 18000 watts of power from the electrical supply. That would pull the system to 11 volts if you were LUCKY. Hoffman's iron law states that 18000 / 11 = 1636 Amps of current. I cannot see that being the case.

have you got the remote from your head unit attached to your amp otherwise the amp will always be on. The remote allows the amp to turn off when the head unit is turned off saving you battery! also try running a power cap they are about a ton for a 1Farrad that allows my 12" audiobahn hooked to a 1000W kenwood amp plus my components (on seperate amps) and head unit run for hours at shows although i have uprated the battery as well!

raptor - What battery did u upgrade to? optima? what other mods have you done to help the power thirsty amps? lol.. i ask because i have that problem lol

cheers

Raptor.

In fact if you disconnect the remote the amp will always be OFF. You have to present 12+ positive supply at the remote to turn the amp on. Therefore the only way to wire an amplifier to be permanatly on is to loop the remote from the +12v supply.

Power Caps do not help you to play the system for longer. They actually have negligable performance benefit in 99% of systems. The entire point of the Cap is to discarge almost instantaniously - faster than the battery to allow for better transient response when listening to loud music. Now bearing in mind a battery can pass its current fast enough to dump 600 amps to your starter motor to start the car up you can see that the Cap has to discharge incredibly fast. 1 farad is not that much power actually! Therefore can only power an amp for maybe 2-3 seconds best case.

He could mean 12,000 WATTS 'PMPO' and not 'RMS'.
