Technical 230 2.8idTD tachometer signal

Hi!
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good connection point for a tachometer on the vehicle in the title, or do I have to hack it out of the generator if I want one?

Are you talking about an electronic RPM gauge? You could probably use the 2000-2002 2.8jtd pinion drive / sender whcih it a combined cable an electronic unit. You might need to change the speedo cable too.

Thank you, I'll look into that. I need to eventually change the speedo cable anyways, the needle flutters quite badly.

I wonder however, how can you get an RPM-signal out from the gearbox?

If the cable is bad it wears the speedometer and eventually shears the teeth from the pinion. I wouldn't put off changing it.

You get the signal as I said with the jtd sender which has both electronic and cable outputs.
