Hi,
I live in Mallorca where good mechanics are like hen's teeth... so..
My 2010 Punto Evo 1.4 Multiair 105hp Sporting has the common problem of the seats no longer sliding and tilting using the handle on the side of the seat.
Having done online research, inc Youtube, I now have a good idea how to:
(1)Disconnect airbag and passenger sensors under the black covers in front of the seat . Should I also disconnect the battery first btw or is disconnecting the multi pin connector sufficient ??
(2) How to remove the seats, and remove the seat covers ( at least partially) and get to the part where the seat-cable connects to the release mech.
I have finally found a site online that gives Fiat part numbers - See attached screenshot (can't post a URL but the attached screenshot shows it if you want to view the page)
The part number for the release cables seem to be 55703992 & 55703993
Labelled Item No 1 - These are the cables I think I need.
Assuming they are broken and not simply detached..
My questions are these:
Do I need any of these below too?
Part labelled No 21 on the diagram
part numbers are
55701767 & 55702371 - Rod Right & Left.
Is this part of the mechanism?
Part number 14560187 - Labelled No 12 -
Just called " strap" - do I need this? and whats it for?
Finally, will I need to remove the side airbags from the seat to get to anything or make the job easier?
Can't find anything online that shows exactly how the seat works and what each of the parts does. Anyone with good knowledge of these issues would be very helpful to me.
I have to collect my son and his new bride on their honeymoon from the Airport next week and now BOTH bloody seats have failed. The passenger side has been bust for ages but the driver's side was fine, until 2 days ago. Sods Law !!!
HELP !!
TIA
