Technical 20VT into a tipo, how hard?

Idle curiosity at this stage having owned two tipos in my teens and had two coops 16vt and 20vt I still find old nastalgia dragging me back to a tipo but love the power of the 20vt so I wonder how hard it is to do , tried a search but didn't find anything.....

Any advice or links much appreciated.

Thats a 16VT

20VT in a Tipo should not be that difficult. The engine and box at least should pretty much bolt in

an alfa V6 should also be an option!! though may be slightly heavy. i'm sure i've seen some pics of a german tipo with a 3.0 V6 in?

seen bravo with V6 alfa engine in but thats thinner, we are taling straight 5 here! IMO i think it should be possible but no idea of the complexity involved.

should be easy enough, the Fiat Coupe is effectively a tipo in a different shell. you'll just have to find out about whether the engine mounts are similar etc.

yes the 20vt will fit into a Tipo, But as they are slightly wider being a 5 cylinder there is an issue there...... I.E ... To change the cambelt or do anything related on that side of the engine its an engine out jobbie..... not much room,
Think the coupe is wider too, so you will have to modify the drive shafts,
The gear linkages will be different i would have thort too...
A lot easyier to put a 16vt in one...

Had a wee chuckle as it was that listing that brought the whole thing back to mind. That is a stunning example , ideal colour as well! I wish I could do it and incorporate theearly digital dash ( as tempramental as they are!)

Tempremental Dash??????? I got one of these in mine and its fine never had a problem with it...



Buy that blue tipo .. cheaper than doing a conversion!!

Have spoken to a guy ho has done that 20VT have some movie of it to. but he said he rather have the 16VT it was way faster ... he had 350hp on the 20V and 480hp on the 20VT. the last time i had contact he had fitted a nitrus kit so it had 530hp.

btw were is his page gone? the guy with the red sedi with V6 turbo. want his email .. have a 2,5 alfa V6 engine laying around and 2 idential GT25 turboes.! so an undercover tipo will be flying next year maby.
