Have the following error code from diagnostics but cannot find any info anywhere.

P293804 Clutch closed position self-learned – Signal below allowable range.

Any heard of this before?

Model
Hymer 704
Year
2018
Mileage
30000
Do you perhaps mean P2930-84, as the description fits? If so, then this describes the presence of a mechanical fault of the clutch mechanism and the only guide I can suggest is to check for any mechanical faults of the clutch mechanism. You might need a trip to FIATPRO.

Sorry for the delay in replying, we have just continued to use the vehicle. We cleared the error 3 times, didn't come back for 12 months the first time but not so lucky this time. Went out onto the internet and found this.

"The Comfortmatic 6-speed gearbox is a manual gearbox with an automated hydraulic gear change. It has 2 reservoirs, one that holds clutch fluid (DOT 4) and another which holds CS Speed hydraulic fluid.
Your code relates to an issue with the clutch's hydraulic actuation function.
There could be a few reasons for this:
The clutch fluid may be contaminated - as this is a hygroscopic fluid, it absorbs moisture, which affects its performance, so just like your brake fluid, it requires replacement as part of the routine maintenance schedule, usually every 2 years.
This code can also indicate a more serious issue such as a leaking slave cylinder.
It can also be linked to the nylon washers inside the clutch starting to break up.
It would be worth visually checking the clutch fluid reservoir level is ok, and also checking the condition of the clutch fluid in the first instance, especially if you are unaware of when the fluids were last changed on the vehicle.
If the fluid level is ok, but the fluid is a dirty grey/black colour, (it should be clear) we would advise having all the fluids changed, and a clutch touch-point relearn procedure carried out, to see if this resolves the issue.
If this doesn't help, then further investigation would be required into the exact cause of the fault."

I am having the fluids replaced this Friday and a clutch touch-point relearn procedure carried out. Just hoping really. My van is only 7 years old with 30k on the clock

Also if you are in the north I do have a good contact in South Scotland that do a lot of this type of work. I don't know them but have spoken with them about this issue and they seem to have experience about this problem.

It can also be linked to the nylon washers inside the clutch starting to break up.

This problem is well known for 2016-2017 models. Springs in the original LUK clutch plate are seated in plastic parts that might get fragile due to high temperature and wear, and break into pieces. These can obstruct the normal operation of the clutch, permanently or until they fall down.
Fingers crossed that the fault is something less expensive in your case. I’m hoping that it is a less common problem for 2018 models since I have one myself…. Some claim that the quality had been improved by then.
I know that some Ducato owners who had this problem installed clutches from other brands instead, e.g. SACHS.
