Technical 2009 Panda 169 1.0 - electrical problems

Hi guys,

My 2009 1.0 Panda is suffering with some electrical problems at the moment, which could be the recent heavy rain we’ve been having as none of this happened when I bought the car back in august last year. I only drove the car twice in rain last year and it was ok, no problems then.

Problems so far…
Wipers parking halfway across the screen, second speed not working either
Dashboard lights all going off, recently gone worse and dash losing all power including to fuel gauge etc
Immobiliser light coming on, then going off, then coming on, car still starts whether light on or off

Headlights still work, battery fully charged so I’m guessing water ingress or a bad connection or something?
I’m ok with mechanical stuff but electrical problems, I’ve no real idea.

Can anybody help me start investigating this?

Think you’ve posted this in the wrong place, you’ve put it in the Panda Classic section I’d start by checking all earth points/straps by the way

Common Fiat problem, not just Pandas. Keep us updated on your progress. @jrkitching could this be moved to the correct section?

Check under the windscreen the drains (duckbills) aren't blocked

And the scuttle area isn't filling with water

If you have a multimeter or test light, test the block ground

Under load (cranking)
