Technical 2008 relay engine trouble ????help

Hi does anyone know of a an engine fault with the 2008 120bhp mk3 relay.
Mine came to a sudden stop the other day and i have been told it may be a hole in the piston !! only done 67k fully serviced.
Its 1 month out of its warranty and need to do some homework on this fault, i have spoken to a few people and they have seen this happen often even with lower miles. please help

A piston dosn’t just get a hole in it unless something has hit it, usually cam belt failure.
If this is the case it will be very expensive, sorry.

How do you know the piston has a hole in it

There are no fault codes coming up to say its injectors,After further investigation they said 2 glow plugs are u.s and no compression in one port, so i guess a piston failure !!
Got to find out this week as they are going to take engine out and strip it.
Going to need a lotto win i think !!!!!

Is that 2.2 or 2.3 engine, theres are pistons and con rods on ebay germany for reasonable at the moment, I bought injection parts from this guy before.

it will be the 2.2 engine (chain drive, no cam belt)
has any bits broke off the glow plug and hit the piston?

2.2 new shape 120 bhp , will know in a day or 2 when they strip it.

Has anyone else had same problem ??????
Spoke to the company who originally had 5 of these and all but 1 van blew up and citroen were very poor on the aftersales so I have my fingers crossed as the dealer has been good so far.
I have been told they are not stripping it till next week now, another £500 in van rental bills !!!!!!!
