Technical 2008 2.2 diesel not starting

Hi all, newbie here, please help if you can.

I have a 2008 2.2 which will now not start. The engine turns over and it does offer to fire up but just dies straight away, like it was starving itself of fuel.
I have checked fuel at both the filter and the injectors and both seem to be getting fuel pumped to them.

Temperature gauge goes straight to red when turning the key on and electric fan also kicks in. :bang:

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
