2007 Panda smoking and misfire on cold start

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I am new to the group. I bought a 2007 Panda Dynamic 1.3 multijet diesel 2 days ago 74k miles and manual gearbox. I find that when the car is started from cold it is smokes quite a lot and a rough idle, also the glow plug symbol on the dashboard occasionally flashes. It is embarrassing in front of my neighbours. When the car is warm there is no problem starts ok runs ok without any issues. What is the most common fault that causes this and what should I be looking for and what would a garage charge to fix this problem. Thank you.

One or more faulty glow plugs is the most likely problem. They are pretty cheap, although I only use Bosch ones, as some unbranded ones fail quick, and can be troublesome to remove when they do.
