quite like that; but i have o agree that rear end does like something off the astra and the front reminds me of an alfa! But it odes look like a nice motor, we'll have to see ay! By chance does anybody know what addition on autoexpress it is as my lastest 1 is dated up till the 22nd n i cant see it in there; maybe i just need to look harder?! :)
Should come out when im looking at changing mine not sure yet if i want tripiuno though (1.4/1.6gt) does anybody know prices and engine sizes?! Would be good to see what they go for on jamjar when they come out (y)

Don't put too much faith in what that magazine says. I doubt it will use a GM platform. I like the looks though I reckon it will be dumbed down before the production model gets here.
I'm glad you mentioned that becasue it seemed a pretty unlikely chance to me that having just ended an agreement with GM, Fiat would suddenly close it's Stilo plant and build it's new car on the Astra line!

Of course it seems to me far from the new motor being based on the Astra the new astra is based on the old Stilo - that distinctive rear end was never popular before the stilo was it? In any case I can't decide whether all new cars look the same or that's just a perpetual mentality I get every time a new car comes out! I suspect the latter...

WOW, I love it.. Its got the same impact as the present Stilo as it looks unusual..Thats more like what I expected from the new Punto.. The Abarth model should look awesome.

I haven't read the whole thread so please excuse any repetitions...

Very nice indeed. Looks a lot like the Seat Altea, which is a damn fine car too!

Is it a concept, a model or a photoshop? If so, I can't really see it ever getting to production looking like that...Be good if it did tho.

I looked in Auto Express and the photos in there made me change my mind a lot as I based my initial reaction on the scanned photos on this thread - I like it very much.

thought I would bring this one up again as its valid in reference to the platform.
Found this pdf dated from 2002, talking about Fiats Compact platform being introduced with the Stilo, and that GM where deciding to use this platform for the new astra, rather then their delta platform.
Now im not uptodate on what platform the astra is using, but if it is the case that it is the Compact platform then the press have been getting it wrong :)
