General 2004 Panda Indicator \ headlight Stalk issues

So we have a 2004 Panda and we have an issue with the indicator stalk, when indicating the headlights seems to randomly tur or / flash ect so looks like its an issue with the stalk, is it an easy fix? if so what's needed?

important to disconnect the battery and the wheels are pointing straight ahead before doing anything else


unlike other model cars the stalks rarely fail. I would have no problem using second hand ones.
