Hi
I have a Ducato 2004 2.0L JTD . Driving home one day it just cut out . It will start again when you lock and unlock it . But as soon as you load it up it just cuts out .The strange thing is that it runs brilliantly when cold but as soon as it comes upto temp it just dies .

I have been through everything on it .

New Crank sensor , High pressure fuel rail switch , Air Mass ,

Its coming back with 0191 which is high pressure fuel rail fault . Has anyone else had similar problems ?

Pulling my hair out !!

Hi.
So what rail pressures are being seen by the ECU..?

Are you saying that locking the doors makes a difference.. maybe look at the worn loom thread.

Hi Charlie
I only had my mate look on his machine once to see the fault .

No i have to lock and unlock the van to start it again otherwise it just turns over and doesn't start .

I was steering toward the high pressure pump breaking down when warm . or possible faulty temp switch ?

Get connected to engine ECU and see what rail pressures you are getting..you may see it change when HOT.

ALSO see what temps in both air and water its seeing.

Could well be a sensor..or the wiring to it.

Without proper figures we are only guessing

So i had it booked in today at a diesel specialist and was putting it back together to drive it there . I disconnected the sensor wire from the top of the Fuel filter housing and it runs fine and doesn't cut out but doesn't pull like it should . Any thoughts ?
