Technical 2004 2.8 JTD Instrument Cluster

I'm getting the Gearbox Warning light flashing. Book says an automatic gearbox fault. Mine is a manual.
I have read the various comments on the Forum, so just to be sure, had the cam belt and cam timing checked. No problems.
No other problems found at the garage and no error codes .
So, what is the best scenario? Remove the cluster and get it repaired? Reset something? Put a piece of tape over the annoying flashing icon?

All advice and guidance welcome.

I am sorry that you cannot contain your impatience. As a fellow x244 2.8jtd owner, I was going to post some suggestions. Now I will just not bother. There are others who will be more appreciative of my time. We all have our own lives to live.
