Hey folks, endless googling kept bringing me back here so I thought I'd join up!

My 2004 2.3 Ducato motorhome was running fine, started first time on the key, until a few days ago when it quite quickly started to get really bad and now doesn't start off the key at all. It turns over fine, just doesn't even try to fire. Fiddling with relays under bonnet seemed to get it going a couple of times but that could have been a fluke, all relays test ok and connections around the fusebox seem alright. I swapped the fuel filter out with no joy. I've put my multimeter across F21 to check the in-tank pump and it shows as drawing 2.3A for about 10secs after key is turned.

I had the RAC out yesterday, these are his findings:

So it originally was starting and then running seemingly fine with deodorant into the air intake, although when the RAC were out it would just about run, but then die as soon as the spray was stopped.

I'm just waiting for eManuals to sort out an issue with my order then I can have a look through the diagrams and try to work out what's what!

Has anyone any ideas where I should go from here? I want to try and at least investigate as much as I can before biting the bullet and getting it into a garage.

Thanks! :)

John

I THINK I FIXED IT!!

I think I fixed it!!! So I was trying some other fuses to see what current was being drawn and went for F22...I found it looking quite unhealthy on one terminal, signs of it heating up browning - and the fuse not blown but seemingly not making good contact with the terminal. Chucked the multimeter across it and it fired up first time, no issues! Removed multimeter, engine died. Cleaned fuse up, reinserted and touch wood running without a hickup!

Now the question is why did that HR happen...
