Help needed, please….

I have a Ducato 2093/4 converted by Swift into a motorhome, now registered in France. Last week it failed its Contrôle Technique due to the headlamps. They were discoloured and had cracks, so the dipped beam was outside the acceptable spread by 3.9%

Fiat no longer mark the headlight units as available and tgere is no likelihood of them making/getting more (fortunately, as I was quoted 996€ just for the headlight units. Ouch !

I bought two units from AUTODOC which fit perfectly and I now have them adjusted to below the required level, but the electric levelling does not work.

Various places suggest they are fused separately but are wired into the left hand dipped beam, with a supplementary fuse for just that circuit. Both dipped beams work perfectly (the difference in clarity is startling over the old units !), so it cannot be a blown fuse controlling the dipped left beam as is often quoted.

Does anyone know which fuse this might be and where it is located ? I can remove the rotary switch on the dashboard, which has three wires - presumably +ve, -ve and the signal wire as it is basically a potentiometer that has to be balanced at the motor end.

If anyone can give advice, I would be very grateful, to say the least ! Red wine to share is always available here if successful help can provide a link up !

Hi,
eLearn only shows the dipped beam fuse as supplying the level adjusters. As both adjusters are shown as working in parallel from a single control, I suggest disconnecting each side in turn, which may help to localise the fault. Applicable eLearn diagram attached.

May I add that the description, which judging from your post may have already, can be seen here.
