Hi
I have a Fiat Ducato 2.8 diesel motorhome. A problem with the dash display panel has occurred, could anyone please help.
The engine runs fine but the rev counter goes rapidly to 2000 then jumps to 4000 revs irrespective of the true engine revs. The odometer and trip counter increment every 6 seconds, even when the engine is off and the keys are not in the ignition. It indicates Kms though I am sure it was miles. The speedo indicates I am doing 100 mile per hours when I am doing less than 30. The fuel gauge and the temperature gauge do not seem to work.
I have looked around for loose connections etc. but the fault is still there.
I have now disconnected the negative connection to the battery ( I cannot reach the positive connection) to stop the odometer counting up.
I would appreciate any ideas.

Is it 244 model 2002-2006 or 230 model 1994-2002?

If its a system like my old audi 80, it will have a voltage regulator inside the panel on a pcb somwhere,,,if it does, and that is a dud, it might be a cheap fix if you can de-solder and re solder a new one[ ideally it would have a pert number on it and a google search would find a replacement (maplins even?). If not, then a used panel may be needed from a breakers or a remanufacturer, there are loads out there. Google ecu repairs and most of them do panels. if a cheap enough one can be found, its worth a go... maybe someone can let you try before you buy?

Corcai, sorry for the delay, I didnt know which it is. I have now fond the plate, its a type 244.

Still investigating the fault :-(

I sent an email to Cartronix, cartronix.co.uk who said this was a common fault and they could fix it. I removed the cluster and sent it to Cartronix, they fixed it and returned it within 3 days.

Great service

How much did it cost for the record.
