Technical 2.4 diesel problem

hi i hope someone can help,i know i have an injector seal gone (leaking air) would this cause rough engine running,starting problems and loads of blue smoke on starting.starts from cold but after warming up is a pain to restart,also anybody know the size of the seals any help would be much appreciated,Bazz.

Air in any diesel fuel system is going to cause problems. Are the seals you are referring too the ones at the base?

yes the ones at the base, i phoned a fuel injection specialist and they said i would have to take one out so they could see what size it is,which seems a bit daft to me,surely they should know the size.any way i changed the air filter,diesel filter and seems a lot better.

The thickness of the sealing washer is critical to good running of any direct injection diesel engine. For the price of the washers (50p each?) you're better off going direct to a Fiat dealer so that your injector protrusion is to spec. The washers already fitted will be subject to crush so may give an incorrect thickness when measured.
