Hi folks, new here. I'm after some advice, and hopefully where to buy a gasket?

2013 Ducato 2.3 diesel Multijet 130 (X250, Euro 5)
Camper with low mileage c. 35,000, though certainly showing it's age in places.

I have a coolant leak externally from the EGR valve - between the brown plastic and cast parts as pictured. It's visibly bubbling with engine running. It's lost about a litre in 200 miles. I'm certain it's not the hose above leaking.

Between these parts is a rubber gasket, also pictured. I have dismantled and it appears no coolant has been getting inside the EGR. The gasket is rough on the surface which meets the metal part. The gasket sits in a groove on the brown plastic part.

Van is/was running & driving fine, but haven't driven it far since noticing the leak. My preferred garage wish to replace entire EGR and possibly EGR cooler. For a gasket! Van has no symptoms of poor EGR, and no apparent coolant in exhaust fumes (but I have no way to test the latter).

Only other current issue is 'check glow plugs' warning on dash (appeared after MAP sensor replacement, and sensor is very close to one of the rusty glow plugs, so might have tweaked that - one thing at a time though!). Has not affected how it drives (yet!).

My questions:
1: Am I missing anything here? Should I be concerned about a greater problem, or is it likely just this gasket?
2: Why can't I buy the gasket anywhere? Can you help?
3: Is it okay to put the parts back together with a high temp RTV silicone/gasket maker?

Appreciate any help or guidance.

Thanks.

Assuming surfaces are flat, smooth and clean you could try a thin smear of sealant , though let it get "tacky"before assembly, so it doesn't migrate around the system.
Ideally a new Fiat part, but when I needed two small O rings for the oil cooler on my Doblo 1.6 MJ they cost me £37 and came in a Fiat bag from China!
So next time I bought a O ring making kit from Loctite which initially I was sceptical about, but as long as you uses their correct glue and rubber for me it has done the job.
I also was able to buy from eBay lengths of different diameter correct rubber in different sizes and including square profile, careful measurement and following their guidelines is critical and for your job it would probably be tricky. It really depends whether you would find a use for the kit in the future.

Hi i have the same issue with a leak in the same place. Did you come up with a solution or go with a full replacement. I am currently travelling around scotland making replacement a bit tricky. Any info would be appreciated
Thanks Jason
