Hello!
My name is Dan im 22 and passed my driving test 2 days ago and I am hoping to soon be the proud owner of a 2002 fiat still 1.6 activ

I am going to look at her tomorrow so I am just wondering if there's anything in particular I should be looking out for?

I have worked in vehicle mechanics and accident repair so know a bit but never worked on a still so any tips etc would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dan, welcome , and congrats..!!,

do you mean a Stilo Active,
they are nice roomy cars ( FIATS "golf" ),
good mechanics.. - VARIABLE.. electrics..,

have a GOOD look in the stilo section, both posts AND the headers..common faults.. etc,

nice cars ( for cheap..)but if you get a bad one it can be a LOT of work to get it straight..,

Hi thanks Charlie

and yes I do mean a stilo active lol damn auto correct!!!

its done around 83k which for a 2002 i think is pretty good and yea have heard a few stories regarding the electrics lol

what do you think is a reasonable price? hes asking jus under a £1000
of course I plan on haggling that down :)

will have a long read through the threads tonight

thanks

ive got same car just 51 plate. my only advice is check it out throughly,
a long test drive (which I didnt do)
I used mine for 2 weeks just doing school run & bk was ok,
but took it up motorway & drove about 40 miles in it & now its got ecu problems !
hope it helps.

My 1.6 seems fine but is the smallest engine I'd have in a Stilo. Going by average e-bay prices £500 would be more like it, they really are worth bugger all which is a shame.
