Technical 1997 1.1 oil within the intake?

Theres similar threads i know, so i appologise.

My 1.1 has been throwing oil into the intake and all in the throttle body is a oily residue and i cleaned up my spark plugs today and the two inner ones ONLY were soot black, whereas the outer two were nice and clean.

How do i go about sorthing this out?

I'd suspect that Either the Oil is overfilled
So its splashing

Or its just splashing alot of oil and a result is its burning in the 2 cylinders?

I'd be tempted to fit an oil Catch tank - Catch the Oil, stop it running rubbish

I never thought of that, thanks!

I thought it would be something to do with the single point injection where only the two inner (or what is the closest) cylinders would have black plugs.

Black plugs means 1 of 2 things
- Burning excessive Petrol
Common if you have a manual choke and forget to switch it off when driving
- Burning oil - leaving black soot

Did you clean the tip up again and checked the gap? if so okay dokey
If not - whip em out again, not hard check and refit

I didnt check the gap, i figured the ecu adjusts automatically but i suppose it is an older vehicle. I cleaned them all up so they were as silver as possible. So if im overlooked this and i need to adjust the gap, that might be why theres not "that much" power?

IMHO there's no point in cleaning dirty plugs. Just swap them out. It's possible that you have bore/ring wear that's causing the plugs to oil foul (and chucking blow by into the air filter).
