Technical 1996 ducato alternator

looking for help or info for following i have a 1996 2.5 tdi ducato and im having a problem either sourcing a alternator or brushes or a regulator box complete with brushes. its a valeo alternator and has no meaningful numbers on it to help . the problem with the present unit is that that one of the brushes is damaged at the contact point with the commie thus giving erratic charging if i could find a set of brushes i could resolder them in place. none of the auto electric people in my area can help thanks in advance

If theres a lot of miles on it you might be better getting a younger used on on ebay.

corcia. thanks for the info saved it in my bookmarks. as i have found a UK supplier JCR SUPPLIES seem to do a whole range of electrical spares and components for all makes of alternators and starter motors everything for a complete rebuild and many other parts. well worth a look. thanks anyway jt.
