Technical 1988 uno 60s mk1 egr valve location??

[60s failure]

hi there, im looking for the egr valve abd was wondering if anyone would know what it looks like or where it can be found

any help will be great thanks

There isn't an EGR valve on a 1988 60s, especially if you live in NZ.

hmm ok. just asking because when driving along and even while idling im geting rough idle, and also when driving the car gets jerky.

ive changed

leads
fuel filter
air filter
oil
had ignition timing tuned
new coil
new ignition module

but to no avail, so just wondering if its the plugs and/or air/fuel mix

Hi , "From memory" , there is an exhaust gas recirc cannister on the front edge of the engine ,
has a tube up the the airfilter and another intio the block,
has a M8 / 13mm headed hex bolt "REALLY LONG" about 130 /150mm,
remove the bolt and prise off the "lid of the cannister" this may well be coked-up , there is ( should be ) a small oil -return / drain hole back into the sump,
have a look - mine was packed solid with crud - it actually resembled a plant-pot full of soil,

hi charlie i thort that was a pcv valve in which i am to still clean im going to sort that this weekend

hi there charlie. it was how you said, that cannister was gunked up to the max. ive since cleaned and replaced and noticed a little differnce
