17's on Bravo 1.6sx

Is it possible to fit 17" Alloys to a Bravo 1.6 without serious arch mods, and if so then how much can you lower it by after that! I dont want it lowering that much (im not one of those people from the school of thought that cars should be undrivably slammed to the ground, especially when there are speed bumps everywhere) but it would be nice to lower the car a bit with some nice woolfrace voodoos on.

no problem

i've been running 17s on my bravo for ages now with no problems, no arch mods are needed unless you want to really slam it, as i've said before, you'll have to live with an increase in noise and a harsher ride but that's the price you pay, they look the ****** without a doubt.

Thanks for the help, how much have you lowered your Bravo by, you still say it makes no difference!
Just one more thing, have you got a HGT cause i know that the arches on them are a bit wider than on the standard models, so would this cause me any problems, as i said befiore i only want a 30 - 35mm drop, nothing mental.

I have 17's running 205-40-R17 for over a year now on my 1.6. The car is lowered 35mm all round. I play a lot of golf and often have 4 lads in the car with 4 sets of clubs in the boot and have never had any prob with rubbing.

I have Toora's 17 inch 265/45/17 under my bravo 19TD GT and i haven't had that much problems with it! But i can only drive the car with 2 persons! and i lowered the car with 6cm!

Thanks lads for all your help, i wonder why so many people have had problems with other cars and fitting them with 17"s. That was what was going to put me off buying any more than 16"s because the last thing i want are any arch mods, but thanks to the advice ill be going straight to 17"s
Just one other question though! How much did it bump up your insurance premiums.
