15"?????

anyone managed to get a 15 incher in the rear (OOOER ) of their cinq or sei?

very very tempted to get a sony pentagon 15" from a mate who works in a car audio shop a mates rates but dunno if a standard size 15" box will fit???

You'd be better off with a decent 10 or 12.

pm has been sent to minty about the 15" the fact that i have 2 10" and 1 15" make the sound more responsive. if you want mega low bass then go for just the 15" the 10" are for very punchy bass and can cope well with some low tones too. so far everyone who has been in my car and experienced the stereo has liked the sound so must be running something right.

but remember tune your stereo to your own taste i.e i like mine to have hair raising bass and still good vocals, which iv achieved.
if someone says that sounds crap ignor them. its your stereo play it how you like

who me.... well il tell ya anyway

iv got 2 sony p5 10" subs in custom boxes in the boot a 1600w mono class d digital 1/2 channel amp running all subs. the 15" sony p5 is mounted into the rear seat. a custom made shelf made from 1/2" mdf to seal the boot causing it to act more like a sub box for the 15" which also has a set of sony 6x9s in. another set of 6x9s in the rear armrests. a 222w sony amp on the passenger door powering a single 6x9 on the same door. other door build isnt finished yet 10cm coaxials in the dash (sony obv) and another 2 in the centre console which i haven had time to properly wire up yet. oh and an ok sony headunit with 4x50w internal amp. and not fdorgetting the ps2 and screen in the dash.

You uprated the battery or alternator at all?

alternator is a cinq one but upgraded to a bosch one as they have very good internal comps. battery has a bit higher crank and Ah but not the one il be sticking with.

once i can find a decent sized diesel battery il be swapping it.

oh and there is more to come yet on the ice front. got 2 more amps to fit in. its just having the time and patience to do all the wiring.

to be honest i no longer really rate sony speakers.

i had the 12" p5 1200watt sub for a while in my cinq, and have recentally swapped it for a Jl w0.

now that JL is rated at 125 watts compared to the sonys 1200, but the difference in bass depth, cripsness and overall sound quality is amazing!

can go so much louder while keepin the bass clear when compared to the sony and run off the exact same amp.

the jl stuff has very deep bass. the main reason that i have such good bass is the amp. the digital mono amp is pushing out sheer power into all 3 subs and causes the bass to appear crisp and precise.

*geek hat on* Actually, Class D amps aren't as clear and precise as conventional class A/B amps, they're just more efficient. S/N ratio is poor and THD is high in comparison. *geek hat off*
