Hi,

Has anybody fitted larger speakers in place of the stock 10cm speakers?

I have a Cargo and this only has dash speakers. I have had one of the door cards off and cannot find much in the way of a speaker loom so that's out of the question.

I am thinking of trying to figure out a way to get some 13cm speakers to fit in place of the crappy 10cm OEM ones. May make a few cardboard templates and try a few things.

Any tips or experience appreciated.

I haven't but please let me know how it turns out, the 10cm speakers are a too small for any bass at all so anything bigger should help a lot. Bass is also about amplifier power so you might find a new more powerful head unit would help too. I have replaced all the standard speakers in mine with sony's to some benefit.

When i got my first Doblo Cargo the lefthand speaker kept cutting out, i replaced them both with a pair of Pioneer TS-100/1i from halfords, it was cheaper than buying the one, i had to cut off the conectors & crimp new ones on, & the screw holes did not line up perfectly but i think 2 of the 4 did a good enough job, i think they where 110 mil, they sound better than the orginals & i can run the cassette on full vol,
hope this helps.

cheeky sod, they where still fitted in doblos till quite recently, although i just use it now to run my mp3 music phone through via a cassette adaptor, just cause im 52 im not a dinosaur.

Hi guys,

I have an good quality Alpine Head Unit in the van. It's about 5 years old now but was about £250 when I bought it- one of the first to play MP3 off of CD.

When I had it in my car I had some Infinity Component speakers in the front and a 12" sub in the boot. All properly calibrated and it sounded great.

You can get small under-seat subs. Unsure how they sound though but would be fairly easy to install in the Doblo Cargo.

I might just order some 13cm coaxial speakers as I don't know where I would mount the tweeter with components, they would look a bit cack on the dash or A pillar I think.

(Component speakers are where you have the regular speaker for mid-range and a small tweeter speaker for the high frequency stuff)
