Hi Guys
Is the 1301cc turbo engine known as a Brazil engine?
If so turbo powered 127 thoughts are entering my mind :D
Cheers
Adrian

I've never heard it called that, though as the Uno was still being made in South America right up until very recently it's possible the engine was made there too and given the nickname 'Brazil'.

If you have the ohc engine in your 127 (1050cc?), then I'm pretty sure it's based on the same family of engines as the non FIRE ohc Uno engines.

In which case, yes, the turbo 1.3/ 1.4 lump will drop in, but don't forget all the other bits the turbo engine needs as well.

An easier swap would be a Tipo/ Tempra 1.6. Nice and simple, very little to worry about and should work well in a 127.

Mind you, a turbo 127 would certainly shock a few people

Yup it's based on the 903/1299/1301 na engines know as brazil engines. The turbo engine is a very tight fit on the 127 and the tranny will require cutting the wheel wells to fit, i think the suspension towers will require mods as well. I don't think it's worth it, the 1099 in the Y10 turbo should be easier to fit and is based on the same family of engines. Custom pistons ARE cheap regardless of what others say;) , i payed 225 euros for 4 forged pistons for the 1242 :D

hey guys this is my first post here in this lovely forum, about swaping a 1301cc turbo in fiat 127 i've done it 5years ago and still have the car runin' .
but there will be some problems fitting the engine like fifth gear cover will be over the stablizer bar and other stuff but finally if done right it'll be like a speedin' bullet,my car has a manual boost controller and custom exhaust system free flow 2.5'' and a bigger intercooler taken from mazda rx7 rotary engine a bigger oil cooler and an adjustable fuel regulator taken from tipo 2.0 16valve engine 3bar,here is a link to my photo gallery.............hope you like it . http://photobucket.com/albums/v623/loaye/
