General 1.9 JTD Sporting 0-60 Question

Hi guys

I pick up my 06 plate 1.9 JTD Sporting 130 on Thursday and wondered if anyone knew the 0-60 for an un chipped car.

I've just dumped my money drinking Astra 2.2 SRI which was pretty quick before the engine blew and I was wondering if I'm going to have to get used to driving around slowly or if the JTD is as quick as it felt.

Is chipping them a problem, does it damage the engine, what are the benefits?

I think the m jet is 8.9 . Every one will tell you to go reddot racing for a remap. The car will be fine as long as you don't rag the car everywhere. Look at my sign that's what I,ve got out of a remap, and a few people have more bhp. My 0-60 is round 7 ish

Ive got a 0-100 vid of mine Il put it up one day, I keep forgetting 60 is 8-9 secs, they arnt slow, Id be confident its about the same as your astra

Thats brill news. I'll see how I go on with it as standard at first and then start reading up more for the remap option if me lead foot gets bored.

0-60 is 9.3 or 9.6 book figure. Tjet is 8.9.

you dont really need to take it past 3.5k, especially when its mapped as there so much power below, peak torque comes it at something like 1.8/2k and 3.5k is were it runs out of puff!

@ mattyk - get it mapped you'll love it! get down to gaydon in a couple weeks time, there quite few of GPS going. Personally i wana hear bolt's induction kit

ur standard 0-62 seems to be around 9, from that so the 8.9's - 9.3's quote are about right, ull notice ur mid range will be blister if you get it mapped in comparison.

Its worth it but reconsider your servicing / cambelt kit strategy IMO.
