Rite guys... today I noticed I have a slow puncture,
Drivers side fron, down to 1 bar. I check tyre pressures religeously evry Sunday and it was fine then.
So between Sunday and today I got this screw in my tyre, half an inch from the sidewall so the tyres sha**ed.
Now.... question is what do I fit,
I want and need long life (mileage) rather than stunning grip, but I dont want to be flying into a ditch either! (y)
Kw** f** want minimum £135 for their 205/45/17s, but I have seen Toyo Proxes for £62 +fitting and Nankang?? for £50+fitting.

Anybody any helpful experiences of either or any views? Yes I know I should change to same tread pattern both sides but there is only 6k miles on the other 3!

Damn FIAT for doing the spray-can gig!

ive just had the same problem today found a screw in my tyre right on the shoulder ov the side wall cost me £105 for a new bridgestone today.

I'm gonna break all the rules,
Off up 2 Liverpool tomorrow for a couple of days meetings so M6 here I come.
I squirted the tyre - fix stuff in (well some of it) :) left the screw in there and gonna check pressure later to see if its stopped losing air

Ordered a Falken ZE512 for £60 direct from Falken, these seem highly recomended by the Fast boys out there (y) delivered by post for when I get back (if I get back with a screw and tyre full of plop) (n) and get the Falken fitted Friday.

Turning Business into an Adventure.... Drive a GP!

:D got there and back without incident or air loss!! (y)
Falken tyre arrived on time... good lookin rubber but the proof is in the driving!

So... the Fix & Go works for a "screwed" tyre, wouldnt have been so happy if it had been a nail or similar that could pop out easier tho!

By the way, the Falken is a 205/45/17 but its easy to see how much rubber u lose after just 7k miles when u stand the 2 alongside each other.

Falken report to follow when I know anything.

After 14,000 miles both front tyres were worn on the inside and they were illegal, so I shopped around... Budget were £50 a corner, but I prefer using tyres recommended by Fiat, so it had to be Bridgestones. I got them at Harris Bros in Swansea, top service, cheapest around at £92 per tyre. I did note though that the original tyres were made in France, the ones I got now are made in Japan! Still the same tyre though...

By the way, has any owner experienced incorrect tracking? I am rather disappointed to see that after 14,000 motorway miles both front tyres were badly worn.

Yep - when i had my two new tyres last week i had to to have the tracking done - they were quite out, and as you said, very worn on the inside edge, especially notable on the left hand side.

Update.
My FIAT dealer TJ Vickers in Telford sell off 175 65 15 wheels from Punto's who's owners upgrade to alloys. These will fit any GP for a spare wheel. Mine cost me £10, need a tyre now. Jack and wheelspanner sourced from a scrappie for £4. Peace of mind.... Priceless!
