remove pipes from top, unscrew top (can be very tight sometimes need a hammer and screwdriver to slacken it) lift out old filter and replace, reassemble.
You use this to manually pump the fuel through into the filter. I changed mine the other week and had to pump this at the same time as turning over the engine in order to get the fuel flowing again. Without pumping this the van would not start
yellow points to a clip that holds the top in place
red dots are where the top gets removed from the case
after removing the clip
the fuel outlet pipe is disconected by pushing on the green arrows
white arrow points to plunger on mine
just a note as i know this is an old thread..brought a new filter from a well know motor spares company it cost £11.50 but it was about 0.5 mm taller than the original filter and could not close the filter lid, got a correct fitting filter from local peugoet dealer .am on anglesey n.wales no fiat dealer close by and it was £4.00 cheaper and fitted like a dream..
van is a 1.9d scudo el year 2000..
I have a '98 1.9 non turbo with the round filter. The 'lid' of the housing is secured with 4 allen head screws. Does anyone know where I can buy the screws as a couple of mine are a bit rounded off and getting awkward to undo.
