I've currently got a 115 HLX, but am tempted by the JTD. Anyone got any opinions between the 2 engines? Or the JTD in general?

+ what are the chances of actually finding a JTD HLX for sale in black with a sunroof for a reasonable price ;)

go JTD!

David

I have learnt to give huge respect to JTD's over the past three months since we started power tuning them. They are incredible! I am adding around 35 BHP to the 105 JTD's for a mere £240 at the moment! We have a Punto 1.9 JTD that does 0-62 in 7.1 and over 140mph all on grp 6 insurance!

I am just in the process of buying a Marea 130 JTD with the 2.4 JTD which we can take to over 210 BHP with 320 lb ft torque - immense!

They are holding their value really well though so you have to search around.

JTD

You'll be lucky to find a good JTD HLX - and narrowing it down even further to a black one will make it even harder for you. Once you're over the fact that it's "a diesel" you won't look back. Trust me, Nigel used to hate them, but now look at him!

www.autotrader.co.uk is your best bet.

Nigel, have you started tuning 1.8's yet? how additional power are you getting with them (if you've started)

Many Thanks
James

Re: FAO Nigel

Nige isn't interested in the 1.8 because he gets enough business with the diesels - hence my interest. Tuning the JTD105 to 140 bhp will certainly get it shifting, shame it can't hit 150 - hello HGT diesel ;)

Re: JTD

I drove a JTD a while ago and I have to say it was superb.

I have also borrowed a 1.8 HLX and thought that too was pretty good, so on balance, I would go for the JTD for economy. I think they're quite scarce so happy hunting.

140BHP from a 1.9 diesel - wont that shorten it's lifespan quite considerably?

Please don't give me cause to be Roger the Revengeful.
