more than likely a blocked injector

Im Driven to Earn, and I Earn to Drive......

new injector :D try a bit of injector cleaner in the tank and give it a good rag if that dont cure it then new injector it is

there was a post today about new boo discounts there is a pretty good price for geting it swoped there

Or more likely a blocked air filter or a few other more minor problems than the injectors.

hi what other things can i check 1st just chamnged leads and air filter rang fiat they want 107+vat for 1 injector

When was it last serviced, age, milage, when were the plugs last done, are there any holes in the exhaust?

If it was an injector I'd expect a missfire.

it was last serviced last year its a 1.6hlx t reg 83 k motd aug last yr had new exhaust june last yr the last mot was noted at 81k so new exhaust has only done 2k havnt changed plugs yet only bought car yesturday

Fit new plugs. Bosch super 4.

Check the exhaust is actually good and check the lambda sensor is installed (just before the cat) and plugged in. (follow the wire)

just to say it runs smooth on idle no sign of missfire

hi now replaced leads, plugs, air filter, added redex to fuel still no better tick over seems ok pulls ok in 1st then put into 2nd,3rd,4th,5th and just no power

hi tom i take revs right up to 5,6 thou in all gears

keith, when tom said to use injector cleaner, he meant something that works well, like Forte' for example. Redex doesn't really do that much. You can pick up a bottle of forte fuel system treatment for about £9-10. it got my cat through another MOT a week after it had failed two testings.

Good good, not a girly driver :)

Try an ECU reset, disconnect the battery for a few hrs. Will take a few hundred miles to relearn everything, just drive normally.
