Technical 1.6 engine problem

hi i have 52 reg 1.6 stilo active 8 weeks ago engine problems started car spluttering and cutting out especially when revs a little high when changing gear garage changed no3 injector and coil solved problem for 2 weeks then started again changed injector no 1 and all new coils day later same problem really bad when engine cold fiat garage have had car now for 2 days and still trying to find out whats wrong anybody had similar problem many thanks for help andy

Hi andy The 1.6 has four coils fitted directly over the plugs The way to diagnose if its a cylinder or plug fault or a coil fault is to move the coils position, If the misfire moves the fault is the coil, if the misfire doesnt its a cylinder specific problem (probably plug). Either way if you have a misfire I would change the plugs as they get coated when misfiring and dont always recover. Also sometimes if you get a coil go down it spikes the efi ecu, and produces an injector error. It could be the ecu has stopped firing that injector to protect the engine, so a trip to the dealer may be required. this is not my work it is section from another post hope it helps mate or it could be a coil is fitted loose on the plug pull em off and push em back on

Has it had a recent Cam belt change? if so maybe the timming is out.

hi thanks for replies cam belt has not been changed but has been in one garage for four days and been at main fiat dealer for two days fiat main dealer having trouble finding out whats wrong will post reply if car gets fixed,I dont have much faith now in either garage andy
