General 1.4 and 1.6 manifolds

folks, silly question but im sure i might have read these engines are the same.

i need to know if the 12v 1.4 exhaust manifold is the same as the 16v 1.6 one. if so great, one on ebay now

if not, does anyone know where i could get one from, no scrappers have one round here and fiat ask too much for it.....

i doubt they will be the same, the heads are completely different. a good way to check is go to your local exhaust place and look in the catalogue, if the part numbers are the same then you're onto a winner. alternatively if the part numbers are different you can compare manifold gaskets to see if they both match, if they do then the manifold will fit the head, but you'll have to assume it will join onto the cat the same, which i'd say is a safe bet but you wont know for sure till fitting time.

a new manifold, gasket and bolts cost me £47 (iirc) at my local 'peterlee freefit exhausts' for a 1.6 bravo last year. that didn't include fitting, why pay the extra tenner when its so easy to do. i then found out i only needed the gasket so i got a refund. very lucky, i thought it was warped

ask about your local places, but not the big chains, at quickfit it would probably be twice as much.

The bottom end's the same, I once got given a downpipe that fitted a 1.4 and 1.6 (but not the 1.2 I wanted to fit it onto :bang, can't speak for the top end . If someone nice has eper they might look it up for you
