Technical 1.4 16v Starjet airbox issues

Hi guys
I've been having issues with the airbox on my GP, the engine is 1.4 16v.
The thing is that some smart mechanic at the garage leanen on it and snapped 2 of the mountings (the ones on both sides) as well as the bottom of the box and now the box is laying on top of the engine. Now the airbox is making rattling sounds from the engine vibrations and is sucking air from different places where the box is broken. :bang:
A new airbox costs a fortune and they are impossible to find on ebay second-hand. I was considering buying an after-market induction kit like the K&N 57i, which can be found at abount 70-80 quid on ebay, do you reccomend this as on option or should i stick with the original parts? I'm not looking for any power increase, I just want to get the thing fixed and working normally.

Motorhog.co.uk will have a second hand one.
They have about 10 GP's in.

The same gearbox is fitted to the 1.9 mjet and abarth models although im not sure if they will be a straight swap

surely if a mechanic at the garage broke it they have to replace it?

I made an enquiry at motorhog.co.uk and hoping for the best! Howevery they currently have only one GP with the same engine and it is quite damaged so we'll see.
Meanwhile i'm looking forward to other suggestions and probably some feedback on the k&n induction kit if someone already installed one...
middo85 - i need an AIRbox, hopefully the gearbox will last a bit longer

Sorry i read gearbox! Partsworld have brand new airboxes for your car but they are £89.99

Haha, I was about to say not the same, but you noticed.

Also the Same on Panda 100HP and 1.2/1.4 Stilo's I believe (but I would advise checking). So might be worth looking at them for used replacements.

So I checked all suggested options and:
- motorhog say they don't have it or more likely couldn't/wouldn't look for it;
- partsworld have it at about 110-120 quid incl shipping
- other cars with the same engine (Stilo, Panda, Bravo, 500) seem to have a bit different airbox, with the air breather hose on the right, instead on the left as in the GP.
In the end maybe I'll get the box from one of the other models and adjust it somehow...
