What's ITB mate? Never heard that before...

1.4 16v has 4 cylinders. It has 1 throttle body > 4 cylinders.

You would put some uprated cams and then a throttle body for each cylinder, like so:

Now add in all your other breathing mods, then do a proper, proper custom map by a professional and lord knows what kind of power you'd be looking at.

I know a few RS Clio 172s that have had around 160-165 standard, with the proper engine and breathing mods plus ITBs plus the map to tie it all in 240BHP is achievable. That is almost an 80bhp improvement. Now it's hella expensive but it is total win. I'm not sure it is possible with the GP though, I'd imagine a lot of the parts would be custom and thus expensive.

EDIT: They are commonly referred to as 'trumpets'.

All of this sounds ace! Wish I had a spare car and cash to do something like this!

BTW, nice explanation of ITB, but wtf does it stand for LOL?

Internal Throttle Bodies?

Individual! One per cylinder.

Some beemer owners put them on their straight 6s as well, gorgeous.

Yes you would need a lot of money, custom inlet manifold, custom cams, custom blah blah blah. Even talk of boring the engine!

Basically £££, however I have searched the net and cannot see a record of any GP with ITBs, there are some Cinqs and Scies, and some older Bravos but that's it, and most of them are project cars that still aren't finished.

Search youtube for some videos of cars with ITBs and I know you'll fall in love.

Btw last time I checked(was a few year ago though), the n/a sporting is unmappable. ;)

Unless you are prepared to allow a tuning company loose with a soldering iron on your ECU. (I was told this by Angel tuning at SICD a few year back)

Well if you're right Magic, then you cannot remap the gp starjet sporting :(

I did look hard when I had mine and they were the only company that said they could do it, but as the car was in warranty, then there was no chance I was up for having soldering done. ;)

They had a 100bhp panda showcased at SICD that was remapped that way.
