Hi guys was wondering what sort of tuning options i have for my 1.4 12v. Without making it sound stupid (big exhaust)?
Id like to get it upto about 100horses if at all poss, duno if anyone has played with these before so.
Or is it just worth waiting then getting a 1.8 next yr?

one thing i did...upgrade the engine haha

sorry bud, no tunning options, that to get u to 100 even.

get a quote on a 1.8, ull be suprised how cheap they are

She's a monster soon to be revealed :)

If they didnt want it stripping they shouldnt of give me nuts and bolts :)

Yeah, i wont be able to insure it till next year though :(

As above. Very little you can do to the 1.4.

Sadly your best bet is to replace the car itself.

How do the 1.8 brava's differ to the 1.8 bravos then? is ther anything in the handling?

How about a later 1.2 16v. Fiat did afterall ditch the 12v in favour of this and its got more power.
My friend had one in a mk1 punto sporting and it was a beautiful engine in that.

Agree with everyone else, I just sold it and bought a 1.8 when I was 18, and the insurance wasn't that bad - circa £800 a year IIRC.

Cheers for all the help guys, i probably will just run with it for a yr then change next year, though my mate has tempted me to the darkside with a polo GTi :(

keep it a year, then swap up to a 1.8HLX. the polo is nothing in comparison. certainly, as far as options go, the polo wont be anything ike as well equipped.

I don't know whose it is, but i love it :)

i recognise the car, but i can`t remember the guy`s name right now, i`ve been to couple of shows with his car one of them bein gaydon 2007,if memeory serves his car is a 2.0,
i had a 1.8GT (HLX), a quick car 113-115bhp, heated seats, sunroof and went by the name Scratchy, and boy was she quick for a 1.8 its well worth havin a 1.8 mate besides its one below havin a 2.0hgt, mine went through a lot of changes but she was well looked after before she went, and to be fair she was far better at handling and driving than the mondeo that i own now as the HLX has the same suspension set up as the diesel versions giving it a stiffer ride,
i had to let her go in the end as i needed a bigger car now which is safe for me and the family

Bravo GT Status: Kinda missin havin a Bravo :(
My Bravo, Scratchy

It's mine! And yep Rob is right it's a 2.0 (155), remaped I'm hoping to around 170bhp. It also has a custom stainless exhaust and BMC carbon air box thing so they may add a couple more BHP. Here is another pic after I washed it a few months ago. This proves it is orange and not brown!! Ta for the comment by the way :)

Its awesome dude, i really like that car, the only thing id be dubious about is how it handles compared to a bravo? i mean mine is standard atm, but still seems to grip no matter what i give it, how about those things, cause it does seem a bit of a lump. If you got some pics of could you send em this way?
Cheers

I have a later 20v Marea saloon and often used to drive a friend's late Mk.1 Brava 1.8ELX - both handle and grip well by class standards.

Remember they all share the same floorpan/100" wheelbase. Sometimes you can feel the extra weight of the 5 cylinder over the 1.8, but only when really pushing and it's not a problem. The 20v's have the advantage of wider track/bigger wheels and brakes as standard.

As with many cars, the saloon is if anything slightly better balanced than the hatch version due to the extra bodywork weight at the back, although that extra weight dos'nt help acceleration and the 'family saloon' Marea is set-up for a more comfort bias than the Bravo so dos'nt 'feel' as sporty, (can be 'fixed' with stiffer springs/dampers if you want though...)

If i were to have a marea, i'd want the weekend (estate) and 130bhp diesel probably...
