I've had 3 different ones on my 1.4, a Max Power one, one of them chrome shielded ones and a K&N that should have fitted something else, am still using the K&N at the minute, but they dont really make a huge difference to the noise it makes, unless u stamp on the throttle from low revs, which increases fuel consumption by about 100%!lol.

I am thinking of going for a fourth one, a Pipercross foam one, a mate has one on his 106 rallye and it sounds exactly like a Civic Type R on full chat!!

Its just the £79 price tag that's bothering me because the other three put together came to less than £35!!

had a pipercross on my clio 16v, loud as hell! prob lost bhp to be honest though, engine is a tight sqeeze.

Another thing, you will have to run a cold air feed to it from the front bumper, otherwise the car will not run very well because the filter is situated right behind the drivers headlight, so cannot suck air in on its own.

yeah i want a hlx bumper.i can fabricate a pipe for it from stainless steel tube, but just wanted to know if it sounded like a vtec or not..lol
cheers for the help dudes.

performance wise your better off with just a replacements panel filter, not an induction kit on your 1.4
YBFilters on ebay are the cheapest for k&N ones.

if its just noise you want, then an induction kit is for you...
