can anybody please help me i have 1.2 bravo,and between 1800-2500 rpm iget a rattling noise which seems to be coming from the top end of the engine,if i rev beyond 2500 it goes,all help would be gratefully received

idont know if this will help but it started happening as soon as i got my car back after a mate had changed the cambelt but he assures me that he checked the timing before he fired it up again

It will be the metal heashield at the front of the engine. Mine does it at 3000rpm. Its damn annoying! Either take it off or cut out the little piece where it is rattling

iam sorry about that it was'nt really a description of the rattle.it sounds a bit like its pinking

The timing belt is one tooth. If the FIRE engines pink its one of two main things....
1) the ECU is knackered as the advance and retard is controlled by the ecu as there is no distributor
2) the timing belt is one tooth out, and as you have just changed ur belt Im goign with this one.

Trust me - it will be the heatshield. Rev the engine whilst your looking under the bonnet

sorry about the delay in responding to your suggestions,i have been away,so how would i check if it was one tooth out and is it fairly easy to do
