Couldn't find a definitive answer through searching but apologise if this has been answered before

I have a 1.1 MPI seicento and can get hold of a 1.2 block from a 2004 panda.

Can i simply put the head from my 1.1 onto this block or are those days over?

Cheers

whynot just get a 1.2 engine as heads are the same anyway ,swap ancilerries and pulleys, changed front water pipe and slap it in,though original airbox wont fit back on,

take a peek in engine swap in the FAQ section and search forum, been done many times

Because i can get a 1.2 block super cheap 5 miles away.

So the answer is yes it will go on?

Just need to sort an exhaust

as mentioned in guides with using a 1.2 block you can use a spacer to keeps stock system which is adeqaute.

yes i dont see why it wont go on,make sure you have correct cambelt as your original wont fit.

take exhaust gasket to machine shop for some cash they can make up a spacer if needbe

Possible issues are:
1) Different crank sensor position for wider pulleys/Cam-belt.
2) larger diameter crank shaft at oil pump end.
3) Pistons may be the Euro5 spec designed to work efficiently with the new type head.

If it is a Euro 5 spec then steer clear.

Being a 2004 I'd have thought it would run the older style fire engine same as a mk2b punto but I'd get the engine number first and make sure it's an older style fire engine because of the problems cc1 has just posted

But in short yes it'll work but you want an older style engine
