Technical 05 1.9 multi jet fuel filter quick connect clips

Hi everyone! I’ve just changed the fuel filter and had an unfortunate pressure leak afterwards from one of the quick connections on top of the new filter. It’s surprising how much diesel can get pumped out all over the driveway till you realise what on earth what just occurred
My question is can you still buy a new set of fuel pipes anywhere? Or is a visit to a diesel specialist to make up some new ones necessary.
My van has the filter with three connections. Zippy ties are now firmly in position!! The old connectors all look pretty brittle and I’m surprised they haven’t let go before!

I am assuming yours are the ones with two plastic squares that you push in to release the connection and it is on a plastic pipe.
The O ring inside the connector is obviously what does the sealing so if held in place it can't leak, which in your case the clip side is now no good, but your zip ties are doing for now.
The choice is between going to a scrappy and cutting off a length of the pipe with a good connector and then using a piece of suitable fuel type grade rubber tube and a couple of good crimp connections or spending in excess of £200 odd on a pair of plastic pipes front to rear of vehicle flow and return.
That was my dilemma several years ago when an 03 Doblo van I had was sucking air at the connector by the fuel tank unit.
Note I say air, as on that model the Lucas Epic fuel injector pump had to draw the fuel from the tank as no pump in fuel tank.
If you go down the repair route make sure it is a good repair and uses fuel grade rubber pipe, also note there are two sizes of connector at the filter I recall.
From a safety point of view I advise the new genuine replacement pipes or a complete s/h full length form the scrapyard, the choice is yours

Thanks for the reply! It has now dawned on me that it’s actually quite a few years old now despite being nice and shiny so no wonder eBay doesn’t have anything to offer! I’ll probably go down the sourcing of new clips and graft something in. I was hoping for something of an instant fix naturally by way of the internet! Cheers!
